Freelancer wins Gold Stevie® at 22nd Annual International Business Awards®

Sydney – August 13, 2025 – Freelancer has received more international plaudits,

winning a Gold Stevie® for its general innovation and groundbreaking artificial

intelligence initiatives at this year’s International Business Awards®.

The award for Best Business Technology Pivot recognises the novel and successful

ways Freelancer has used AI to greatly empower freelancers and clients around the

world, as well as globe-spanning projects involving NASA and other governmental

agencies.

In their assessment comments, judges hailed Freelancer’s efforts as an “exceptional

global orchestration of complex, multilingual AI projects, showcasing unmatched

scale and technical sophistication.”

Another judge remarked, “Freelancer's AI pivot shows visionary leadership, technical

excellence, and scalable impact.”

Three Freelancer projects, particularly illustrative of the company’s innovation, were

presented to the judging panel:

Intelligent Talent Orchestration: The platform developed sophisticated AI algorithms

that don't just match skills to projects but orchestrate entire innovation ecosystems.

This system successfully coordinated a 52+ language AI training project, managing

quality control across dozens of cultures and technical specialisations

simultaneously, something previously impossible at scale.

The Moonshot Innovation Platform: Launching in 2025, this system transforms how

‘impossible’ problems are approached. Using methodologies proven with NASA and

US Government challenges, the platform coordinates multiple interdisciplinary

teams, manages complex IP frameworks, and orchestrates multi-phase research

initiatives.

Enterprise-Scale Security and Processing: The platform's infrastructure evolved to

handle nearly AU$1 billion in transactions while maintaining enterprise-grade

security. Freelancer subsidiary, Escrow.com’s ability to process single $50 million

transactions demonstrates the robust financial and security technology underlying

the innovation platform.

“It’s a humbling delight to receive such a prestigious award,” Freelancer Chief

Executive Matt Barrie said.

“It’s recognition of the incredible talent in this company and a reward for our

ambition. Freelancer is always looking for new ways to empower our users and use

the might of the tens of millions of people on the platform in projects like the

Moonshot initiative.”

“We won’t rest on our laurels. We will continue to execute world-firsts and have a few

projects we’ll soon announce that we’re particularly excited about.”

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards

program. All individuals and organisations worldwide – public and private, for-profit

and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2025 IBAs

received nominations from organisations and individuals in 78 nations and

territories.

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250

executives worldwide, who participated in the judging process in May - July. Winners

will be celebrated during a gala banquet at the Corinthia Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal on

Friday, 10 October.

The 26th Gold Stevie Award win cements Freelancer’s position as a market leader

and, as one judge summarised, demonstrates “Freelancer’s evolution into a

high-impact innovation platform. The Moonshot Innovation Program, billion-dollar

infrastructure, and AI-powered global coordination reflect cutting-edge

transformation.“
